Waist Away Book Giveaway!!!
Hey lovely peeps!! SO sorry I've been MIA on this blog! I've been super busy working on a huge new project for women with Carré Otis (deets coming SOON, I promise!) and, thus, unintentionally ignoring this particular facet of my online world. Whoops!
OK, enough with the excuses and onto the new, right? It's (almost) a new year and time for a fresh, healthy, renewed start! One such start can be with the awesome new book Waist Away, by my friend Dr. Mary Klemens Clifton. I met this lovely lady in Traverse City last summer when I was teaching a healthy cooking class. She attended with her (freaking adorable!) daughter and I was even lucky enough to contribute a few of my favorite recipes to her beautiful book!
Her book contains wonderful tips on how to lose weight joyfully and naturally, and lots of sound advice from a doctor who actually knows about nutrition!! Crazy concept, right??!
So, how to win a signed copy??? Just post a comment on this blog post, telling us what your New Year's resolution is (if you have one). On January 15th, I'll pick a winner at random to receive this awesome prize!! Be sure to stay tuned on my Facebook page, where I'll first announce the winner. : )
Good luck, and I hope you are getting ready to make 2013 your healthiest, happiest year yet!!

New Year's resolution? I'm not too big on those. I guess if I were to have one it would be to find a way to be more active this year.
ReplyDeleteMine is to continue to live healthy, be healthy and help as many people as I can to become the same.
ReplyDeleteMy New Years resolution is to focus on the positive and love myself more. I do believe 2013 will be an awesome year!
ReplyDeleteget back on track, yoga, hopefully loose a little wt around my waist, be as kind as i can possibly manage (o;
ReplyDeleteI don't make them, but I'm on a home purging/organization bender.
ReplyDeleteExercise (heading back to Curves) and ridding myself of Diabetes through eating properly (vegan of course). I can hardly wait to reclaim control of my life/health again. It's so time to get back on track and I am excited about it!
ReplyDeletemy resolution is to not give up on myself. i've struggled with getting lost while trying to lead myself to better health and weight loss.. but i've realized that maybe i'm not so much of a know it all considering i'm not losing weight. i think a book like this would be a great tool!
ReplyDeleteNew projects are fun! My goal is to get a VitaMix in January and get back to having green smoothies. I haven't had one in six months (moved and didn't bring the old blender) and really miss them!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to simplify, organize, and make more time for myself and my peeps!
ReplyDeleteJust got a new gym membership today, so i plan on going for days a week.
ReplyDeleteMary Henderson - Kzoo - to continue the line of communication with my family that is always good at holiday times, but can be improved always. And to work on my health (& waist) so we can celebrate for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteI plan to get a bike and actually ride it! I'm hoping 2013 is the year I figure out what is going wrong in my body so that I can regain health and get back to a normal weight.
ReplyDeleteI am going to make juicing a part of my healthy living plan.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to pay more attention to GMO's and avoid eating from Monsanto owned companies. I'll be looking to eat more locally produced food.
ReplyDeleteI don't make resolutions for the new year. Each day I have a new goal and this year's theme will centre around studying.
ReplyDeletePooh, the kindle version is free on amazon. Definitely checking it out now! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy New Year's resolution is to get in the best shape of my life for my wedding :)

ReplyDeleteI would love to win
ReplyDeleteI have so many, but my resolutions all aim to support my hopes for 2013. I've been vegan for three years this month, but I want to continue moving towards a more whole-food diet and exercise more. I also want to simply and de-clutter. My hope is that that my husband and I can sell our house and start a family.
ReplyDeleteMy new years resolution is to a) stop being a lazy bum and start working out b) drink a green smoothie for breakfast everyday instead of coffee
ReplyDeleteI'm focusing on fitness this year. I became vegan in the spring of 2012. Now it's time to get active!

pretty predictable, and common enough... i've resolved to get back on the yoga train: 3 times a week, 30 minutes. also, i'm striving to be more active in all other endeavors, as possible :)
ReplyDeleteGo 100% vegan and more exercise, the chocolate is really hard to give up but that is my stumbling block. Really need to get in more exercise just have to figure out what since my life is crazy busy.
ReplyDeleteMy goal this year is to exercise consistently so I can finally drop those last pounds.
ReplyDeleteNutritionwise, my resolution is to eat healthier (going vegan for real, for good this time!) and exercise more.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution for my new life, not just the new year, is to appreciate myself more. Eat better, take time for myself, feel less guilt, etc.
ReplyDeleteI will be turning 50 in October so my resolution is to be at my goal weight by then and to stop smoking for good. I have gotten off to a good start by eating low fat vegan and I am walking 2miles a day but I sm going to build that up to more miles. I have gotten off all insulin now and only take Metformin now and I hope to get off that eventually with more weightloss.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution for the new year (silly me I thought I had already commented on this post) is to eat less processed sugar. Ugh. I do so good most of the day with eating good...but then the night comes and I want cereal!! :( lol, no more! I'm going to replace my processed sugar cravings with natural sugar...like persimmons, or cherries <3 !
ReplyDeleteMy resolution this year is to find a way to lose 30 lbs. I've been trying hard in the past, but seem at a stand-still right now.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it will be to treat myself better- mind, body and soul. I am preparing for a long juice cleanse in the spring, but beginning my healing process by eating more raw, getting better rest and supporting my immune function.
ReplyDeleteAlso, looking for a new home, job and pushing through with my classes at school. It is going to be a goal filled year, with lots of promise!
My resolution is to balance my time better. More time for me, more time for family, and still be able to handle work and health. I may need help with all this. Can I order a life assistant to help me balance it all? Gymnasts are good at balancing. Maybe I'll become a gymnast this year.. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is not to have any resolutions; to try to improve myself all year long :-)
