Day 4 of the 2-Week Super Shape-Up!

Greetings, friends! How's your weekend going so far? I can't complain over here - I've been working hard to get my book done, but I only have a few more days left until I send it off! So, again, apologies for the short post, but I want to keep updating this every day as you are all doing so great!! :-)

My food journal today:

* Lemon water
* "Green Radiance" mixed with water
* 1/2 grapefruit
* Cooked oat bran, topped with "Nancy's" plain soy yogurt, apricot jam (organic, all-fruit), & chopped dried apricots (YUM!!)
* "Happiness Bowl" with lettuce and carrots (from Radiance 4 Life)
* guava kombucha
* "Sweet and Spicy Turmeric Popcorn" (from Radiance 4 Life)
* "Carrot Ginger Lime Soup" (from Radiance 4 Life)
* No Will Power Cookies (from my blog)
* Strawberry-acai coconut probiotic drink

Notes:
* I notice that I need about 2 more servings of veggies, so I'll have them now!
* Water intake: At least a gallon - most of which is sun tea. I love drinking sun tea as my water intake, as it hydrates me while also supplying SO many great things! This batch contains nettles, mint, hibiscus, decaf green tea, goji, and blueberry leaf.
* Exercise: It was insanely windy today (I think I saw Toto flying by my window at one point), so I stayed indoors and rode my recumbent bike for 2 hours while catching up on the phone with one of my best friends!
* Visualization: I'm slacking in this department today, so I'll try to do a good session before bed tonight.

So, how did YOUR day go? Can't wait to read all about it! :-)

  1. Had an epiphany of sorts. Fri Night in journal I made reference to being the "kind -of- person I want to be". (Several weeks ago when I was down on myself for not "being better", I realized I have the power to choose to be the person I want to be). So in journal I caught the juxtaposition: I can be the 'kind of person I want to be' ...or: I could be the 'kinda person' (as in ambivalent, kinda/almost...As my friend Mykl put it: One can choose to live to be volitional or to be automatic.So he demonstrated slouching down in the chair as unaware. Or we can live w/purpose: and hold good posture and live in an aware and positive manner.By choice. My choice!

  5. Yay!! Loved reading your posts, ladies!! Keep up the fantastic work.

    And Tracy, sorry but I don't know of any great yoga videos...other than the one my good friend Barb gave me (she's a fantastic yoga teacher). I don't know if she's got resources on her site, but here's her website: http://yogaworxindy.com/

  6. So I woke up at 2:30 this morning very hungry. After drinking some water and still not being able to go to sleep after an hour, I got up and ate something (well to be specific it was dark chocolate almonds. I am blaming this choice on the sleep deprivation!!). Then I went to sleep very easily.

    Even though this was not a very good start, I felt great today. It was the first day I was not insanely hungry, got a headache, or had intense cravings. It was really nice!

    Breakfast:
    Lemon water
    my freshly juiced "green juice" (cucumber, carrot, lettuce, kale, broccoli stem, and 1 inch piece of ginger)

    Mid morning:
    Banana

    Lunch:
    Went to Chipotle had their GF vegan tacos with rice, black beans, lettuce, corn, and guacamole

    Mid-afternoon:
    2 of the raw dark chocolate mint cookies
    carrots and your recipe for hummus

    Dinner:
    "Garam Masala Chickpea Curry"

    (I made the Raw Cacao Superfood Pie this afternoon and had to try a bite - foodgasm- so then I *had* to have a very small piece after dinner. Promise to not do that tomorrow, but it was SO GOOD!!!)

    Exercise:
    1 mile walk
    1 hour of yoga in the evening (my mediation is included in that time)

    Dinner:
    Not super hungry tonight, so just some watermelon, water, and a peanut butter/banana/soymilk smoothie

    Aaaannd...probably some cheesecake ;)

    Exercise:
    Biked to and from the gym with the hubby
    30 minute leg strength training

  8. Great, Kim!! Thumbs up!

    And Nastassja, I really get the feeling your headache went away because your body got enough calories - sounds like the almonds had something in there that you needed? Keep up the great work!!
