New Giveaway!!!

Greetings, friends! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the start of spring. Yay, tulips and asparagus!!

So, I've finally decided what my next giveaway shall be....

As any cookbook author can attest, it's really hard to keep up with all of your other cookbooks when you're constantly testing your own recipes. So, I've decided to give 8 of my cookbooks a new home...YOUR home!

*Fresh and Fast Vegan Pleasures
*Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker
*Vegetarian Sushi
*The Millenium Cookbook (from the renowned vegan restaurant in San Francisco)
*Tofu Cookery (vegan)
*Thai Vegetarian Cooking (authentic Thai dishes)

...Oh, and I'm thinking I'll have to throw in a FREE SIGNED COPY of Radiant Health, Inner Wealth as well. I can't send you all those other cookbooks and not send you mine! ;)

So how do you enter? Here be the rules:

1. Follow this blog (on the lower left side of this page you'll see "followers." Just above that, you can click on "follow" to follow this blog.

  1. My favorite cookbook is "Eat Right 4 Your Type" I discovered the blood type diet several years ago and although it is difficult to follow sometimes, it really makes a difference in overall health and the knowledge and recipes in the book are awesome!

  2. I don't have many vegan cookbooks but I do enjoy RHIW....I'd love to win some more :)
The recipes in RHIW are fresh & not too complicated. They are delicious, in fact my husband always makes a comment about yummy food when he sees the book out.

  3. I wanted to enter...but I have a copy of RHIW and I really do think that it is the best, better than all the rest! I am just going to celebrate with whoever wins the signed copy!

  4. RHIW is fantastic. How It All Vegan! is special because it was my first vegan cookbook, has easy-to-find recipe ingredients, and has an excellent chocolate chip cookie recipe.

  5. I don't have a lot of cookbooks - I get most of my recipes from VegWeb and FFVK, and sometimes I check a few out from the library....but I must say, the cookbook I use the most is RHIW, and I'm not just saying that to suck up, Tess....its just that most cookbooks I come across aren't concerned with the health aspect - and since I'm trying to lose weight, your book has been the most helpful, and definitely the most used. So thanks!

  6. Well, of course RHIW is my favorite! It will always have a place in my heart as it guided me through becoming vegan. I have others now and enjoy them, but I always go back to RHIW. =)

  7. RHIW is my favorite. I never was much of a cook before. Now it is so much fun. I tell everyone it is my new bible. I would love to start a collection, now that I know what I am doing.

  8. Uh, I wasn't expecting so many of you to say my book is your favorite....but THANK YOU!!! You have all made my day! :-)

  9. Hi Tess! I agree, I love RHIW because of the health aspect - that really distinguishes your book. Your book is how I discovered that I have food allergies going on - I could really notice a difference with how I felt going on/off your wellness plan, so thank you so much!! My other fave is Eat, Drink & Be Vegan by Dreena Burton because it so fun & easy to follow and everything I have made is pretty kid friendly yet super flavorful. Plus Dreena is a real sweetheart just like you. I like down to earth cookbook authors! ♥

  10. My favorite cookbook would have to be Japanese Cooking: Contemporary & Traditional [Simple, Delicious, and Vegan]. I spent a semester living in Japan and as a vegan and not that great of a cook it saved me. So much stuff in Japan has fish or other animal in it so I loved this book. Not to mention I love Asian food! By the way, I am a fan on facebook but I have a different name on there (Wayne)

  11. I seem to go through phases as far as cookbooks go. I will use one a bunch and then switch to another. I own quite a few that I rarely if ever use though. I get a lot of my recipes from VegWeb too. RHIW is the book I use the most right now.

  12. I only have a couple of cookbooks (so I'd love to win!) the one I like is The Eat Clean Diet. I mostly eat raw food so haven't needed many fancy cookbooks :) I'm really interested in the vegan diet and would love to win all those cookbooks!!!

  13. So hard to choose! I love VCon of course, but the Joy of Vegan Baking is epic as well. I'd give a kidney for that Millenium cookbook! I ate there for my birthday last year, it was ridiculously amazing! Best.food.ever.

  14. I haven't owned cookbooks until pretty recently, so it's hard to pick a favorite since I've usually just made recipes from Vegweb. I do find myself using Veganomicon a fair amount but I'm not sure I can call it my favorite because it's kind of inconsistent. I am indebted to Vegan Brunch for giving me the most incredible bagel recipe. I feel like every cookbook offers something a little different, and variety is the spice of life, so that's what I like!

  15. Vegan Fusion World Cuisine. It is full of beautiful & mouth-watering photography of raw & vegan eats, plus exotic locations. The dishes all have super-cute names like Rahim's Rasta Pasta Primavera, and Inner Light Cucumber Mint Dressing. The recipes are not too work-intensive, nor do they have TOO many ingredients. Also, the book features inspiring quotations on each page from Ram Dass to Woody Allen! It is definitely an inspiring book. <3

  16. What a great giveaway! I think I'd be most excited for your book LOL. Anyways, my favorite cookbook is the Everything Vegetarian Cookbook by Mark Bittman. There really are recipes for cooking everything in there! It's on the practical side, no fancy pictures, but I always know when I get a random veggie from my CSA or something unique jumps out at me at the Farmer's Market I have a cookbook I can refer to for help.

  17. Right now I am digging Vegan with a Vengeance--I haven't had a recipe in there fail. I hope to be loving RHIW soon, too! :)

  18. I will always return to _The Enchanted Broccoli Forest_.
Many years ago this was my first veggie cookbook. The recipes I made convinced my dad that I could eat well without eating "anything with a face". He still makes my favorite dish, vegetable upside down cake, for my birthday every year!

  19. I am already following you on facebook & here! I love reading your posts.

My favorite cookbook is the Passionate Vegetarian by Crescent Dragonwagon. Most of my veg cooking skills have been built from her book, but I also love the anecdotes that she sprinkles liberally among the recipes. It's the love story of her & her late husband, her & food, her & the inn she used to keep, her & me, and me & food!

  20. Being a Vegan Newbie- RHIW is of course my fav - I'll branch out someday!

    ReplyDelete
  21. that's a good question. which is my favorite. HUM. VWAV is classic. I also like RHIW a lot. Vegweb isn't a book but I enjoy it a lot too.

bonus also - i have a few of these books so if i win you can have a second winner that gets the books i already have. heh heh!

  22. I only own 1 vegan cookbook, and that is 1000 Vegan Recipes! So.....yes, I need new cookbooks!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love your cookbook, but Farmer John's cookbook holds a special place in my heart. It's the book that started me cooking veggies I had never tried before. I love how all the pages of my favorites fall open with ease!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Right now I don't have a favorite cookbook. Veganomicon is growing on me a lot. Lately, I've been dabbling in online recipes and trying to compile a book of my favorite recipes from all of those. There's just so many good things to find on the internet too!

  25. my go to cookbook is the better homes and gardens cookbook. I've never had a bad recipe from it!

  26. Hello,

I think this is so wonderful of you to have this contest and I wish everyone the best in winning it but I'd really hope I'm the one who does. :)

The cookbook that I use the most is called "Food for Life" by Dr. Neal Barnard and a large part of why I like it is because all the recipes I've made from it have been fantastic but too, he included quite a bit about health and nutrition and even meal plans for those who might not know how to make healthful, balanced and delicious meals for themselves.

I'd love to get a copy of your book as well. I've heard some about it but I'd love to be able to read it.

Thanks again for making this wonderful offer.

    Peace, love and understanding.

  27. I would have to say that RHIW is the best! I love how it tells you exactly what you need to put in your pantry, the fun humor and the most amazing recipes! My family loves your cookbook! It is the absolute best! It made our decision to become vegan final! We did it because of your cookbook and a little of vegweb mixed in!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks so much Jody! I so appreciate your letting me know that!!

And thanks everyone else too - I am loving all your comments! This is fun & I'm already looking around for more cookbooks to give away after this!

    :-)

  29. Wow, from these comments I'm not convinced I absolutely need RHIW. I'm new at this dedicated health/wellness thing. I have many cookbooks, but lately, in looking for vegetarian recipes, I've just been going online.
    Thanks.

  30. You're not convinced? Are you saying you need me to make a pie for you?

  31. I don't have just one favorite cookbook. I love all my cookbooks. I love to cook and to try new and different things.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't have a lot of vegan cookbooks, but I got Vegan Planet for Christmas a couple of years ago and I'll say that it's my favorite right at this moment because it has my new favorite chili recipe and I LOVE chili.

  33. My library of cookbooks includes many that I have enjoyed over the years, especially the Moosewood Collective series. One that probably has more colorful splatters on the pages than most is Still Life With Menu, by Molly Katzen. Her drawings complement the creativity of the menus, and her instructions are friendly and practical, not to mention the results being delicious. And now that I have RHIW, I feel like it's a new adventure in my kitchen. I love that some of the ingredients are new to me after cooking for over 30 years! Thank you, Tess!

  34. My current favorite cookbook is Vegan Yum Yum. There is such a great variety of recipes in here, and they are nice and hearty for the big eaters at our house (i.e. me and my husband--haha!). Also the portion sizes are more spot-on for us. Other recipes say they will serve 4 and then the two of us eat the entire thing for dinner :D

We just ate at Millennium on our honeymoon and love, love, LOVED it--it'd be great to see what their cookbook has to offer!

    ReplyDelete
  35. My favorite cookbook is Veganomicon, because it's so BIG and full of so many great recipes!

    ReplyDelete
  36. My current favorites are Eat, Drink and be Vegan and the 30 Minute Vegan. As well as a couple raw food books. The recipes are easy and quite yummy. I am always looking for new recipes to add to our dinner rotation.

    ReplyDelete
  37. My favorite is Veganomicon (it was highly recommended!). And that's the only vegan cookbook I own. I could sure use more! Thanks for the contest!

I also follow you on Facebook and on your website.

  38. Hi Tess :)

Just discover you on twitter!...Then your webpage, blog and book! I'm looking forward to reading through all good vegan things on here.

I only own 2 vegan cooking books, but my favorite has to be 'the kind diet' by Alicia Silverstone. I feel that it really addresses a whole new way to reach new levels being vegan and achieving happiness from the inside out. It provides you with goals and support for traversing the best path of being vegan for you.

As a 18 year old Scottish student, it means a lot to find this kind of support in a book when I am just a fledgling Vegan. Its a harsh challenging environment to be vegan here and the two books i have provide me with strength, compassion and intriguing recipes allowing me to continue flawlessly on my path. I cant imagine having a whole shelf of them!! By having them and the words of the authors, it makes me a more confident, stronger vegan :)

keep up the amazing vegan work!

  39. Thanks, Lorna! So nice to meet you!! xo

  40. Well, MY personal fave is yours :) I've loved everything I've made from it! But, because my hubby could be the poster child for Mr. Meat and Potatoes, and my 1 year old, though he hates meat, adores yogurt and cheese, our FAMILY fave is Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. I have to add that he does have quite a few veggie recipes and most are easy to substitute with. (and I LOVE that he is trying to change the way we eat-less processed food is ALWAYS a good thing!)

  41. Wow, great giveaway!! I am having a really hard time choosing my favorite cookbook, but I think I will have to say "Vegan with a Vengeance." It holds a special place in my heart because it was my first vegan cookbook & almost everything I've made from it has been awesome! It's the book that taught me that baking vegan is possible - and amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  42. What a fabulous giveaway! I think once I have Radiant Health, Inner Wealth - it'll be be my future favorite. From my shelf, my favorite cookbook is Veganomicon -- packed full of reliable recipes. Peace.

  43. My favourite cookbook would have to be 'vegan with a vengance' I don't have Radiant Health, Inner Wealth yet but it is on my birthday list and I have a feeling that then my favourite will change! The reason for my favourite books is simple, it's the first cookbook I've ever had where there is nothing in it I can't have (my family insist on giving me non-vegan cook books!) and everything in it has been lovely. :-D
